Who we are

ABOUT US

We are a power house for youth development.

We increase access to quality education and information while helping youths, women, children in low resource communities leverage ICT for development. We also go further to mentor, coach including individually tailored orientations on academic and career trajectories for life enhancement

We mitigate protection risks including; GBV, child protection and road crashes, promote respect for human rights while championing peace building, living together and inclusion so that we can have a conducive and convenient environment where youth and women initiatives and development will flourish

We socio-economically and politically empower youths, women and less privileged persons to break the chains of poverty, live happy and fulfilling life within environmentally friendly communities

YADEF is a Cameroon based non-governmental, apolitical and non-profit youth and women led and youth founded humanitarian and development Association advancing and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). YADEF intervenes in Cameroon within core thematic areas such as; quality education, capacity building and ICT, poverty and hunger alleviation, and economic empowerment (livelihood and wealth creation), human rights, social protection and peace building, gender based violence.

YADEF also pays key attention on the plights of vulnerable population in low resource communities within Cameroon in the domain of WASH, child protection, reducing road crashes, advancing the housing, land and property rights of women, girls and displaced populations, environmental education and youth engagement.

Considering YADEF’s dynamism, innovativeness and Community-based Development (CBD) approach to providing sustainable solutions to community challenges, she engages in different and sensitive issues on sustainable development via a series of projects, and also seeks to foster social research in these fields for a data driven decision making and development.  This research undertaken in various domains alongside Community-based approach provides deeper insights into community development priorities and solutions to identified community challenges affecting youths, women, and girls in low resource communities in Cameroon. We analyze current indicators and implement proactive models or initiatives and actions which will destabilize future impediments on youth’s development and growth, women empowerment especially on issues like poverty, hunger, road crashes and access to education and peace.

YADEF is nurturing, maturing and giving exposure to youth and women actions and initiatives as a way of preparing and providing youths and women with opportunities for a better future. After a deep understanding of the impediments which retard youth development and women empowerment in Cameroon YADEF was founded to changing the narratives; advocating and changing the rules of the game – those rules that keep poor people poor. As such, YADEF prioritizes and seeks to streamline access to livelihood for women and youths while amplifying voices and championing the elimination of inequalities in society. We take lead in increasing access to quality education. This is because we understand that quality education as a SDG is fundamental in achieving the other SDGs.

Being a youth founded organization, we offer opportunities for youths, undergraduate and graduate students to study at the foundation and its partner institutions (supervised by highly skilled and experience professionals).

YADEF is very committed and passionate about community peace building processes within her development and humanitarian programs so as to ensure an enabling environment for youth and women actions and initiatives to flourish. We put PEACE at the centre of everything we do because the “best humanitarian aid” you can ever give to a people is PEACE.
